About Me

Self Portrait

The vision for my blog is quite simple: “be yourself.” I’ve been struggling with finding myself and I’ve realized that I can’t confine myself to being just one thing. I am a multi-passionate individual, therefore my blog must reflect who I am. There is no specific niche to this blog, but more writing and discussing things that interest me and hopefully others as well. My ultimate goal is to inspire others by doing what I love: writing. Feel free to stay a while, kick off your shoes, let’s have a cup of tea and discuss life.

About me: My name is Avery, I am a 20 year old college student living in Idaho and I will be a junior in the fall at Northwest Nazarene University. I am currently an English major with dreams and visions of editing and reading books for a living through a publishing house, as well as get into freelance writing. I am minoring history, and since it is my second passion I would love to coincide my two areas of study together somehow.

I am a free spirit and I consistently march to the beat of my own drum. I’m an old soul and everything old fashioned and vintage interests me. I am very interested in old movies and foreign film. I enjoy vintage clothing, vinyl records, and red lipstick. I am in love with the soothing sound of Frank Sinatra and the horrifying thrill of Alfred Hitchcock’s work. You can always find me reading a book, sipping a cup of coffee, and daydreaming about the future.

I am passionate and I am a firm believer in finding your match, your second half, your soul mate. I believe love exists everywhere, as long as you want it to. I don’t believe in throwing things away when it gets hard, I believe in fixing them. Love isn’t just a feeling, it’s a lifestyle, and it’s a beautiful thing you can share with many.

Maybe we have some similar interests?

Rocky Horror Picture Show, music, photography, reading, writing, piano, singing, loving, driving aimlessly with no place to go, long walks reflecting on life, traveling, feet in the sand, daydreaming, Monroe, Hepburn, Crosby, Martin, Sinatra, JFK, history, Back East, New York City, Spirituality.

Life is beautiful, embrace it.

  1. Avery, if there’s anything I believe in it’s exploration (and not settling on any one “niche”)– so I applaud you for having wide interests and keeping your blog open to those and growth!

Two Qs: what’s your favorite kind of tea, and since you mentioned it, your favorite old film?

    • Julie! It’s very nice to meet you! I absolutely love your blog! I’m new to this and don’t have many followers and am not even sure if what I am writing is desirable to read! — My favorite kind of tea is Earl Grey and I really love a good London Fog (: My favorite old film is tied between Breakfast at Tiffany’s and Bonnie and Clyde!
      How about you?

      • Haha, thanks, Avery πŸ™‚ I know what you mean…that desire to write something people will want to read never really fades!

What is a London Fog?? I’m fond of Earl Grey, too, and also Irish black and then iced tea πŸ™‚ As for old films, I was really asking for the sake of recommendations…beyond Hitchcock, I’m afraid I’m rather uncultured in such matters!

      • Julie! A London Fog is pretty much an Earl Grey tea latte (with vanilla and foam on the top!) It is absolutely divine! Smells wonderful and tastes just as great! — Now for the old films, I have a few I can recommend that I insist you watch! 1. Breakfast at Tiffany’s (Hepburn, Peppard) 2. Roman Holiday (Hepburn, Peck) 3. Casablanca (Bogart, Bergman) 4. Citizen Kane (Cotten) 5. Some Like It Hot (Monroe) 6. La Dolce Vita (Foreign)! I am sure you will enjoy all of these! I have many more recommendations if you need them!
